Jake leads the firm’s operating team, which partners with Engine No. 1 portfolio companies to drive value creation through generating operational improvements. Jake’s responsibilities include assessing geopolitical and operational risks and working with Engine No. 1’s portfolio company leadership teams on a wide array of management and operational issues.
Before joining Engine No. 1, Jake spent 21 years working in the U.S. intelligence community – with assignments in southern and eastern Africa, South Asia and Latin America. Prior to his government service, Jake was an Analyst with Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV), an early-stage venture capital firm based in Boston and Palo Alto.
Jake received a B.A. in Government/International Relations, cum laude, from Georgetown University, and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
